Easter Extravaganza Budgeting Challenge - Single Concept Activity
In teams, students will take on the role of event planners for the Easter Extravaganza, a community festival designed to bring families together for a day of fun and entertainment at a local park.
With a Budget of $500, teams must carefully select three activities from a given list and propose an additional activity while ensuring all Costs remain within budget. As part of the challenge, they will calculate the expected cost, Revenue, and Profit for each activity, making sound decisions to maximise the event’s success.
The activity culminates in a Presentation in the form of a 1-minute pitch, where each team presents their event plan and justifies their choices.
What Students Will Learn
Through this activity, students will:
Learn how to make informed decisions when planning an event.
Practice calculating costs, revenue, and profit while keeping their activities within budget.
Develop presentation and communication skills by presenting their plan and explaining their decisions in a brief pitch.
