Porter’s Five Forces
Porter’s Five Forces: Understanding & applying competitive forces
Topic Based Activity - Topics: Business Operations, Leadership, Decision Making
Description: Students will explore how to make business decisions using Porter’s Five Forces, by exploring what a competitive market is and factors impacting success.
Students are introduced to the core elements of Porter's Five Forces and through a real-world example (Domino’s Pizza) see how it works in practice. They then apply the Five Forces to a business idea of their own, helping them think critically about market competition and the factors that can make a business more or less likely to succeed.
Students can work through this activity individually or with a partner. Tasks encourage discussion and reflection, and an optional extension activity is included to reinforce learning or to allow the students to explore the concept further.
